ABOUT PODOLOGY
Podology, literally translated from the Latin language, means “study of the foot” (podo - foot, logia - to study). Podology is a medical science that includes the study, diagnosis, and development of methods for treating diseases of the feet, nails, and skin of the feet.
The direction is not narrow since it combines surgery, dermatology, endocrinology, and even orthopedics. So, podology deals with the pathology of the foot and lower leg.
The peculiarity of science is that it is quite young and appeared in the CIS countries since the mid-2000s.
As a separate discipline, podology is deeply studied in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK, therefore, a specialist in this field has a European level education.
